    We prioritize student involvement, student-led programming, and customized resources to expand learning beyond the classroom. Our commitment to student success reflects the spirit and values of Sam Houston State University.

Our Priorities

Enhance Engagement, Experience, and Student Success

Goals:

  1.  Design, implement, and deliver programs, services, and campus events that promote student success, retention, and persistence.
  2. Facilitate meaningful connections between students and campus resources, organizations, and communities.
  3. Create opportunities to enhance engagement, belonging, and student success.

Embed Well-Being Practices

Goals:

  1. Embed well-being practices into experiences, programs, and services to support students’ physical, intellectual, mental, emotional, and social health.
  2. Foster a campus environment that promotes student and staff well-being through collaborative Student Affairs programs, services, experiences, and partnerships.
  3. Provide opportunities and resources that strengthen healthy behaviors, coping skills, and self-advocacy for personal, academic, and professional success.

 Optimize Resources, Partnerships, and Communications

Goals:

  1. Use data driven decision-making for the stewardship of divisional resources to maximize the effectiveness of student support, services, and programming.
  2. Cultivate strategic cross-campus and community partnerships that leverage resources to demonstrate divisional impact on student success outcomes.
  3. Promote communication and accountability by providing clear, timely, and meaningful information regarding divisional resources, priorities, and outcomes.
