Conroe Campus Student Affairs

The Student Health Center at the Conroe campus is a nurse clinic. Referrals can be provided for additional services if needed. Student Health offers services such as:

• Acute illness testing (COVID, Flu, Strep, Mono)
• Male/Female and sexual health concerns
• Immunizations and vaccinations
• Birth Control Methods
• Health screening

Please note:

• Health insurance is not required. 
• Semester fees allow students to schedule appointments at no charge. 
• Additional charges may apply for laboratory testing, procedures, or supplies during visit.
• Charges are discussed with student during visit and billed to student account. Payment is not required at time of visit. 
• If a student has the SHSU Academic Health Plan insurance, all charges at the Student Health Center are covered at 100%.

Students may schedule appointments at the Conroe campus, located in the Health Professions Building, to access individual and couples counseling (both parties must be SHSU students). All services provided through the Counseling Center are at no additional cost to the student and insurance is not required.

Auxiliary Aids & Services

SSD encourages academic success and promotes self-advocacy by providing students with auxiliary aids and services. Examples include alternative textbooks, adaptive technologies, and Communication Access Services for students with disabilities.

Accommodated Testing Services

The Conroe campus offers testing rooms with reduced distraction and adaptive technologies for test taking provided for students who qualify through the intake and evaluation process with SSD.
