What is Katalyst?
Katalyst is SHSU’s central technology request system—a self-service portal where faculty, staff, and students can submit IT-related issues, request services, and track the status of their tickets. Think of it as the university’s digital help desk, designed to streamline how tech support is requested and delivered.
Katalyst allows users to:
1. Submit requests for help with software, hardware, accounts, or other tech needs.
2. Report issues when something isn’t working (e.g., broken equipment, login problems).
3. Track progress on submitted tickets in real time.
4. Access a knowledge base with articles and tutorials for common problems.
5. Use a chatbot for quick answers without needing to call or email.
