Sam Houston State University continues to level up its commitment to creating innovative student experiences with the launch of a state-of-the-art esports laboratory in the Campus Recreation Center. The cutting-edge facility serves as a central hub for new and existing competitive esports on campus as well as a space for social interaction.

The College of Science and Engineering Technology received a donation, marking the second largest gift in the university’s history.

SHSU placed ahead of all other Texas State University System institutions in the annual ranking, which evaluates colleges based on student outcomes and learning environment.

Mariachi Del Bosque, an award-winning Houston-based mariachi ensemble with roots at Sam Houston State University, will perform during pregame and halftime of the Bearkat football game.

The Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Republic of Texas Presidential Library will celebrate Texas Archeology Month by hosting a free lecture on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Woodward Auditorium in the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center, 1402 19th Street. Amy Goldstein will guest lecture on “Clay and Collaboration: Archeological Investigations at the Kirbee Kiln Site,” which will highlight some of the recent excavations and analyses.
