His career first began at The Huntsville Item where he worked as the education and city government reporter and won awards for column writing, feature writing, editorial writing and video production. “GCJD allowed me to visit places like Beirut, Lebanon and meet journalists from all around the world that I never would have otherwise. These experiences gave me a new perspective on different cultures, how Americans view the world and makes me think more critically when I make day-to-day news decisions,” Green said.
