Flu Shot Clinics
In collaboration with the Student Health Center and the School of Nursing, the Office of Health Promotion provides free flu shots to members of the SHSU community. There are all-day clinics at prominent locations on campus as well as smaller clinics targeting specific populations (i.e., Athletics, School of Nursing, Greek Life, The Woodlands Center, etc.).
Fresh Check Day
Through a partnership with the Jordan Porco Foundation and other departments on campus, the Office of Health Promotion puts on a fair-like event to “check-in” on the mental health of students with interactive booths, free food and prizes.
Get Yourself Tested STI Clinics
In collaboration with the Student Health Center, the Office of Health Promotion provides free testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea each semester. This event is free and open to all current SHSU students.
Wellness Wednesday Series
A weekly series put on by the Office of Health Promotion that promotes health and wellness for SHSU students through the Kat Kab and Health Hut.
Students are driven to class in a golf cart and answer wellness-related trivia to win prizes. Questions are on topics such as sexual health, alcohol, drugs, and nutrition. The more questions students answer correctly, the more prizes they will accumulate. This is free and open to all current students on campus.
The Health Hut will make an appearance on campus throughout the school year to provide information on various health topics to SHSU students. Health topics to be covered include Student Health Center services, sexual health, nutrition, mental health and more.
