Flu Shot Clinics
In collaboration with the Student Health Center and the School of Nursing, the Office of Health Promotion provides free flu shots to SHSU students. There are all-day clinics at prominent locations on campus as well as smaller clinics targeting specific populations (i.e., Athletics, College of Osteopathic Medicine, The Woodlands Center, etc.).
Fresh Check Day
Through a partnership with the Jordan Porco Foundation and other departments on campus, the Office of Health Promotion hosts Fresh Check Day annually to “check-in” on the mental health of students with interactive booths, free food and prizes.
Get Yourself Tested STI Clinics
In collaboration with the Student Health Center, the Office of Health Promotion provides free testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea each semester. This event is free and open to all current SHSU students.
In collaboration with the Department of Kinesiology and other campus partners, each semester the Office of Health Promotion hosts a Health Fair to provide students with a wide array of information and activities on many important health topics, including sexual health, alcohol & drugs, nutrition, physical activity and more.
At the beginning of the Fall semester, the Office of Health Promotion hosts Wellness Week, a week of health & wellness programming designed to introduce students to a healthy mindset and health-related campus resources.
The Office of Health Promotion offers other programs and events throughout the academic year on a variety of health topics including: Sex in the Dark, Zen Den, Heart Health Week, Sammy's Slumber Party and Safe Spring Break.
