What is a Presentation?

Presentations can be scheduled for the SMMC to present to different student groups. The SMMC offers presentations to fraternities, sororities, clubs, organizations, honor societies, departments, and more! Presentations come in a wide format ranging from Student Loan Repayment to Budgeting for Study Abroad!

We do not provide tax assistance, investment advice, or referrals to specific financial institutions.

Budgeting & The Budgeting Game

Maximum Students: 50

Description

Participants will learn the importance of a budget, how to use percentage-based budgeting, and how to set financial goals.

Budgeting for Study Abroad

Maximum Students: 50

Description

Participants will learn how to budget for study abroad and how to match your cash flow to meet your payment deadlines.

Credit & The Good Credit Game

Time Required: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
Maximum Students: 30

Description

Participants will learn the types of credit, the components of a credit score, debt-to-income ratio, debt-to-credit ratio, and capacity. After the presentation, students will have a chance to practice their newly acquired credit knowledge by playing the Good Credit Game.

Money Habitudes Card Game

Description

Money Habitudes gets students thinking and talking about their habits and attitudes regarding money. Students will discover their money habitudes and how it affects their life and finances.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) & Appeal Process

Description

Participants will learn how to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress. They will learn what a financial aid package is, how their need is calculated, and what an appeal is.

Making Bank Board Game

Time Required: 1 Hour
Maximum Students: 30

Description

You have two paydays in a month; will you be able to afford all your expenses without going bankrupt?! Maybe you will invest and have a big payout. You might even hit the jackpot!

Student Loan Repayment

Time Required: 1 Hour
Maximum Students: 50

Description

Participants will learn about the many loan repayment plans, rebates, and other options that could potentially reduce the amount students owe in student loans.

Ordinarily, a computer and a projector will be needed to make the presentation.

Will you be able to provide a projector?

A representative from the SMMC should contact you within 48 hours of receiving the request. Please allow two weeks advance notice for speaker requests when possible.
