In Fall of 2009, SHSU held its first merit badge for the local district. The next spring, the program expanded to over 60 attendees from the Area Council. This year, with the help of new workshop materials and additional leadership, SHSU hopes to host nearly 500 Scouts.

This program is a great opportunity for Scouts to learn about several amazing programs at Sam Houston State University.

Scouts@SAM inspires Boy and Girl Scouts with a vision for the future while encouraging their leadership development as they strive for the Eagle Scout Award and Gold Award, the highest awards in scouting. Through their partnership with SHSU, both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are preparing to be future leaders.
