How Can You help

No organization doing worthwhile and meaningful work can exist without financial support and the Military Science Alumni Club is no different. MSAC supports the three scholarships and awards described in this website. One hundred percent of the donations made for those awards is used in those awards. All other expenses are either provided by MSAC members or through University funding.

You are encouraged to make a financial contribution to one or more of the programs sponsored by MSAC. You can make a one-time contribution or set up a monthly debit from your bank or credit card. Contributions can be mailed directly to the Office of Alumni Relations at the address below, or you can use this website to electronically make your contribution.

There are many other ways to help support the ROTC program at SHSU.

A Mentoring Program has been established by the Department to match up cadets with appropriate alumni to give the cadets the benefit of the experiences of men and women that went before them.

Networking with other alumni while on active duty, during transition, and during civilian careers furthers the goals of the MSAC.

Other support. Many of our members sponsor scholarships and awards individually, recognizing exceptional performance in specific areas. For example, one of our members donates the use of some of his land for the establishment of a shooting range to support the SHSU Marksmanship Team, another member donates his knowledge and expertise in laying out and constructing facilities, another member donates knives to be awarded upon commissioning. Some members host meetings and gatherings. Some donate time and equipment to maintain the field training areas used by the cadets.

There are also special needs that arise occasionally that MSAC members can assist with, such as boots, uniforms, etc. Some members may have special knowledge or skills that may be of use to the Department.

However you chose to give, you are assured that your contribution will go to a deserving and appreciative cadet. As you think about your days at Sam, and the tight financial strain you were under in those days, keep in mind that the financial burden is at least as severe now as back in the day.

Please contact shsumsac@gmail.com for non-monetary contributions.
