James E. Crews '55

James E. 'Bo' CrewsJames E. "BO" Crews (1932-1978). James E. (Bo) Crews was born in Waco. He attended Sam Houston from 1953-58, receiving his Bachelor Degree in 1955 and his Master's Degree in 1958. He was president of McAdams Co. in Huntsville from 1966 until his death in May, 1978. Bo was very active in the business world and held many honors during his life. He participated in a number of Sam Houston Alumni Association events, was a founding member of the "Big Orange" athletic booster club, and a founding member of the Bearkat Club. The Outstanding Achievement in Management and Marketing Award is presented in his honor each year by the College of Business Administration. He was a life member, Century Club member, and Bicentennial Club member of the Alumni Association, and participated in a number of Alumni Association activities, such as organization of local chapters of the association, while his wife, D'Anne, was association president. James E. "Bo" Crews is survived by his wife, D'Anne McAdams Crews, two daughters, Kay Allison Crews and Kelly Anne Crews. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Crews also survive.
