Tree of Hope

About the Tree of Hope

Each year around the holidays, the Department of Student Involvement partners with the Boys & Girls Club of Walker county to bring Holiday joy to children in the community. Our Department adopts children who have provided their wish lists to the Boys & Girls Club, and SHSU students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to stop by the office to select a gift to help fulfill a child's wish.

Rather than adopting and providing for one child, we divide the different wish items so that there is something to choose from for every budget. Stop by and choose one item, or as many as you like, and help give a child a happy holiday!

About the Boys & Girls Club of Walker County

Boys & Girls Club of Walker County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity that began operating in Huntsville, Texas in February 2003. The Boys & Girls Club provides positive adult mentors and role models to help young people succeed in school, stay healthy, learn important life skills, pursue interests in the arts and sports, and explore vocational choices. Most importantly, the Boys & Girls Club shows children that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
