What is Skype for Business?

Skype for Business is a conference bridge, Instant Messaging (IM), and online collaboration and sharing tool that is available to all SHSU employees.  Skype for Business interacts efficiently with other Office products such as Outlook.

Single Sign-On Technology

• Once logged into the SHSU network, Skype for Business will automatically sign in.

Interactive Messaging Client                                              

• Skype for Business contacts appear in Outlook e-mails and an instant messaging (IM) conversation can be started from within an email, without switching to Skype for Business.  Additionally, Outlook email messages can be sent directly to contacts from Skype for Business itself.
• Outlook calendar integration allows the status in Skype for Business to automatically update.
