Outlook: Scheduling an Email

Outlook allows you to schedule an email that will send at a later date and time. Outlook does have to be open in order for the email to send. To schedule an email, select your operating system below and follow the instructions.

  • Windows

    Select New Email from the Home tab to start a new email.

    Once the email has been created with recipient, subject and body:

    1. Select Options
    2. Select Delay Delivery

    In the Delivery options of the Properties,

    1. Ensure Do no deliver before is checked and the date and time the email needs to be sent is set
    2. Select Close

    Select Send. Please note, once the Send button is selected, the email is scheduled.

    Select Send

  • Mac

    Select New Email start a new email.

    Select New Email

    Add the recipients, subject and body to the email.

    Enter To_Subject Fields and message

    Select the arrow next to Send.

    In the Delivery options of the Properties,

    1. Set the date and time the email needs to be sent is set
    2. Select Send

    Please note, once the Send button is selected, the email is scheduled.
