The Global Engagement Center presents Study Abroad Week 2023! Here you will find all of the information you need to know to fully experience all Study Abroad Week has to offer this year.

Joining ISO is a great way to meet students from all over the world! Scavenger Hunt

Join in the fun this week, and complete scavenger hunt challenges to WIN PRIZES!

1st Place Winner – The student who completes the most scavenger hunt challenges for the week will win a 3-Piece Luggage Travel Set!

2nd Place Winner – The student who completes the second most scavenger hunt challenges for the week will win Beats Headphones

3rd Place Winner – The student who completes the third most scavenger hunt challenges for the week will win a neck pillow and blanket set.

Participants – All participants will receive a Study Abroad Week goodie bag filled with snacks from around the world as a thank you from ISO.

Rules:

  1. There will be 5 scavenger hunt challenges each day of the week posted on social media in the morning for a total of 25 scavenger hunt challenges. The full list can be found here on this website!
  2. You must document each completed challenge with a picture or video. Your face or a friend’s face must be in it! (If it is a challenge where you just write an answer you don’t need to submit a picture or video)
  3. Submit your photo or video of the completed challenge in one of two ways:
    1. Posting it on social media and tagging ISO (Instagram @officialshsu_iso. If you have a private account, screenshot the post and direct message it to ISO.
    2. Completing the Google form here.
  4. When submitting your scavenger hunt challenge, list the challenge number you are completing.
  5. Scavenger hunt challenges do not have to be completed in order, but some are only able to be completed the day they are released.
  6. All scavenger hunt challenges must be submitted one of the two ways by Friday, November 10th at 11:59pm to be accounted for. No late submissions will be accepted.
  7. Winners will be announced, and prizes will be available for pick-up the following week!
  8. HAVE FUN!

Monday's Scavenger Hunt Challenges

  • #1 – Visit the study abroad fair and click a picture of your passport signed by the table representatives. 
  • #2 – Take a picture with an international student at the German fest hosted by ISO.
  • #3 – Learn about study abroad by meeting one of the staff representatives.
  • #4 - Name the country you would like to go for your study abroad program
  • #5 – Follow study abroad on social media @shsu.studyabroad. Send in a screenshot of you following us on Instagram.

Tuesday's Scavenger Hunt Challenges

  • #6 – Attend Study Abroad 101
  • #7 – Name one of the requirements for enrolling in the study abroad program.
  • #8 –Attend the Study abroad with API event 
  • #9 – Attend the Bearkats abroad with ISA event
  • #10 – Find the building on campus, where the study abroad office is and take a picture with it. 

Wednesday's Scavenger Hunt Challenges

  • #11 – Attend the Study abroad pop up event
  • #12 – Have you gotten study abroad swag? Show it off with a picture!
  • #13 – Take a picture with a staff member at the study abroad office
  • #14 – Write down a benefit of the study abroad program at SHSU and why you would want to be a part of it. 
  • #15 –  Take a picture with any international student on campus and ask them about their experience.

Thursday's Scavenger Hunt Challenges

  • #16 – Enjoy an international meal in one of the dining halls 
  • #17 – Follow International student organization on student and attach a screenshot of you following the page.
  • #18 – Follow SHSU International Student Services on Instagram.
  • #19 – Based on the study abroad Instagram page, where did SHSU students go for Summer 2023?
  • #20 – Tell us what it means to you to celebrate diversity

Friday's Scavenger Hunt Challenges

  • #21 – Attend the event “Ready To See The World, But Not Sure How To Pay For It?”
  • #22 – Estimate the costs of experiencing the study abroad program.
  • #23 – Visit the event “The Ultimate International Snack Box”
  • #24 – From “The Ultimate International Snack Box” event, name an international snack and the country it is from.
  • #25 – Tell us about your favorite part of study abroad week!
