- What benefits are associated with my Bearkat OneCard?
Activating the Bearkat OneCard will grant you access to the many benefits offered to the Faculty/Staff of Sam Houston State University.
The Bearkat OneCard is used for:
- Campus Identification
- Meal Plans
- Bearkat Bucks
- Assigned Residence Hall
- Entrance to Athletic Events
- University Sponsored Functions
- Recreational Sports Facility
- Kat Klub
- Newton Gresham Library Services
- Raven’s Nest Golf Course
- University Health Center Services
- Cashier’s Office
- Sam Center (Student Advising)
- Career Services
- How do I get a Bearkat OneCard?
- Have your photo taken in the Bearkat OneCard Office or Request a Card Now.
(You must present a valid state or government-issued photo ID in order to request a Bearkat OneCard.) - Have a valid and current address on file with the University.
- If you are a student, you must be registered for classes before you may receive your Bearkat OneCard.
- Be a member of SHSU Faculty/Staff.
Once these steps have been completed, your Bearkat OneCard will be mailed to you. Upon receipt, it’s essential you select your refund preference at BearkatOne.com. Selecting your refund preference also activates your campus ID functionality.
- Have your photo taken in the Bearkat OneCard Office or Request a Card Now.
- Do I have to activate my card?
Yes, you have to activate your card for Identification purposes.
- How do I order a replacement card?
Replacement cards may be ordered:
- In person – Stop by the OneCard office (Estill Building, Suite 103)
- By phone – Call the OneCard office at 936-294-CARD (2273) or BMTX, Inc. by visiting https://bankmobilevibe.com/contact-us/.
- Online – Login to www.bearkatone.com (User Profile-> Card Status)
- Where can I locate an ATM?

Go to www.bearkatone.com and select the "Forgot Login Information?" option.
- What is the difference between Bearkat Bucks and a VibeAccount?
Bearkat Bucks are tax-free dollars placed in a pre-paid balance account that can be used to purchase items at the dining locations on campus.

The BankMobile Vibe Checking Account is an optional insured checking account designed specifically for students.
- What if my card is lost or stolen?
You can order a new card:
- In person: Stop by the Bearkat OneCard Office (located in the Estill Bldg. Suite 103) Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM.
- By Phone: Call the Bearkat OneCard Office (936-294-2273) Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM. You may also contact BMTX, Inc. after hours by visiting https://bankmobilevibe.com/contact-us/
- Online: Log In to www.bearkatone.com Under "User Profile", click on "Card Status" to cancel and reorder a card.
Note: There will be a $25 fee placed on your fee statement for lost cards. If your card is stolen, please contact the Bearkat OneCard office immediately. - What if my card is worn out?
You can order a Replacement card for FREE:
- In person: Stop by the Bearkat OneCard Office (located in the Estill Bldg. Suite 103) Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM.
Note: You must provide proof of a worn out card in person in order to have fee waived - What if I am returning as a student?
If you took time off from school and are now returning, you can order a Replacement card FREE of charge:
- In person: Stop by the Bearkat OneCard Office (located in the Estill Bldg. Suite 103) Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM

- What if my name has changed and I need a new Bearkat OneCard?
If you need to update the name that's on your card, please make sure that your first notify the University of the name change. Once your name has been changed with the University, please contact our office to order your updated Bearkat OneCard:

Students: If your name has not been updated in the University system, contact the Registrar's Office at (936) 294-1040.
Faculty/Staff: If your name has not been updated in the University system, contact the Payroll Department at (936) 294-1909. If your role has not been updated, contact Human Resources at (936) 294-1070 - What should I do if I have not received my Bearkat OneCard?

- How do I change my Bearkat OneCard picture?
If you decide that you want to change the picture on your ID card, contact the Bearkat OneCard Office in person (located in the Estill Bldg. Suite 103) Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM, call (936-294-2273), or email saservice@shsu.edu
