Teacher
1st Grade, Cypress Trails location
My name is Mrs. Hill. I am excited to be teaching 1st grade at Cypress Trails. I have over 20 years of experience in public schools at the early childhood and elementary levels including: grades 4th, 3rd, 1st, and kindergarten. I also taught pre-k and kindergarten at Primrose Schools which is a private school. I have taught in Southern California, Nevada, and Texas. I have held several positions within the educational setting including: Lead Teacher, Team Leader, and various committees.
I am a parent as well as a teacher. My husband and I are raising our four children. They are mostly grown ranging in age from 17 to 26.
I believe all children are gifted in some way and have special needs. It is my responsibility to discover their strengths and weaknesses. By building on their strengths, they will have a sense of success and accomplishment, which will increase their self-esteem. Students will not care to learn if they do not feel good about themselves or feel discouraged in their efforts. I design activities that allow all students to experience success in some way. Other aspects of my philosophy include children should always come first, diversity is an asset, and teachers and parents need to work as a team.
