I’m Danielle Trahan and I am the 2nd and 3rd grade math, science, and social studies teacher at SHSU Charter Brighton Academy. I graduated from Texas State University in 2009 and have been teaching since then. I enjoy learning so much that I went back to school to earn my Master’s degree and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2015. I have taught Pre-K, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. I absolutely love teaching math! It is amazing to see kids learn to love math through hands-on learning, singing math songs, and truly understanding math strategies and concepts. One of the many reasons that I love teaching at SHSU is because I am encouraged to teach in a variety of ways.
I met my husband, Clayton, while attending high school and we had twin babies in December 2017. Our son is named Sawyer and our daughter is named Rowan. They are our WORLD! We enjoy taking walks in the neighborhood, visiting family, and hanging out on the back porch.
