Testing Center

  • ADDRESS AND DIRECTIONS

    From Houston:

    • Take I-45 North towards Dallas
    • Take exit 112 toward HWY 75 and continue to head North
    • Follow to Bowers Blvd and take a right at the light
    • Follow to the stop sign, take a right at the stop sign
    • After taking a right find a place to park

    From Dallas:

    • Take I-45 South towards Houston
    • Take Exit II6 for HWY 30/ US 190
    • Follow the feeder road to the stoplight and take a left
    • Follow US 190/ 11th street to Sam Houston AVE
    • Take a right on Sam Houston Avenue
    • Follow Sam Houston AVE to Bowers BLVD and take a left at the light
    • Follow Bowers BLVD to the stop sign and take a right
    • After taking a right find a place to park

    From Bryan/College Station:

    • Take HWY 30 East to Huntsville
    • Follow HWY 30 for about 48 miles into downtown Huntsville
    • Take a right on Sam Houston AVE
    • Follow Sam Houston AVE to Bowers BLVD and take a left
    • Follow Bowers BLVD to the stop sign and take a right
    • After taking a right find a place to park

    From Livingston:

    • Take US 190 West to Huntsville
    • Follow US 190 for about 44 miles to downtown Huntsville
    • Take a left on Sam Houston AVE
    • Follow Sam Houston AVE to Bowers BLVD and take a left
    • Follow Bowers BLVD to the stop sign and take a right
    • After taking a right find a place to park
  • PARKING
    • Please visit shsu.edu/parking for all parking information and visit the visitor page.
      • There are two parking lots and one parking garage with visitor spaces for parking within close range of the testing center.
  • TESTING INFORMATION
    • The only item permitted in the testing room is your ID
    • There is a locker provided to each testing candidate to store personal belongings.
    • The following personal items are not allowed in the testing room and must be stored in a locker or your vehicle.
      • Phone (must be powered off, cannot be on silent or vibrate)
      • Watch (if it is a smart watch it must be powered off)
      • Purses and Wallets
      • Keys
      • All Jewelry
      • Jackets
      • Hats
    • Items available to you in testing room
      • Pencil
      • Ear plugs
      • Scratch paper if allowed by testing sponsor

      The following are the precautions we are taking to provide the safest and cleanest testing experience.

      • We are operating with limited testing hours to allow for increased cleaning
      • Plexiglass guards have been installed
      • Sanitation stations available before and after entering the testing center
      • To allow proper social distancing we are only using limited testing stations
      • Lockers and testing stations will be sanitized before and after each candidate
      • Any equipment used will be sanitized between each candidate
    • WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
      • Stay at home if you are sick
      • Masks are voluntary while you take your exam
      • Wash and sanitize your hands frequently
      • Practice social distancing
