The Math Center promotes learning and development in mathematics and other STEM courses by providing a safe and encouraging environment for all students, so that they may maximize their potential as they work toward achieving academic success and progress forward to a lifetime of self-sufficient learning.

Why Math?

Mathematics is a powerful tool for solving practical problems, combining logic and precision with intuition and imagination. The basic goal of mathematics is to reveal and explain patterns; whether the pattern appears as electrical impulses in an animals nervous system, as fluctuations in stock market prices, or as fine detail of an abstract geometric figure.

Who Are We?

We are peer tutors who have an affinity for mathematics and learning. We are passionate about providing support and guidance to learners whom have encountered roadblocks in their course work, as well as those exploring independently. Although many tutors have STEM backgrounds, several are practitioners in other disciplines. The combination of talents provides an excellent opportunity for tutees to receive holistic feedback from several perspectives. Collectively, tutors major in mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, business, criminal justice, nursing, business and education. Most of our tutors have completed Calculus II and other advanced mathematics courses.
