Sam Houston State University - The Woodlands Center is located within Montgomery County, Texas.  The 144,000 square foot, four-story building is situated just west of I-45 on SH-242 in The Woodlands.

SHSU-TWC, open since 2012, boasts a variety of degree programs – undergraduate, masters, and doctoral.  Students are able to earn degrees from numerous colleges including College of Business Administration, College of Education, and the College of Science & Engineering Technology.  SHSU-TWC is also home to the Sam Houston State University School of Nursing.

To support students attending SHSU-TWC, there are many onsite resources:

  • Academic Success Center
  • Jack Staggs Counseling Center
  • Services for Students with Disabilities Testing Facilities
  • Library Services
  • IT@Sam
  • University Police Department

In 2021, The Sam Houston State University Small Business Development Center opened an office in The Woodlands Center.  SHSU-SBDC is a business advising and training center of the University of Houston Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network serving 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The SBDC program is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Facilities are available for use to the community.  Classrooms, lecture rooms, conference rooms, and event space can be reserved for no charge through the Administration Office.
