Kent Krumes

Kendal Krumes earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with highest-distinction from Concordia University, Irvine, and has two supporting undergraduate degrees in Business Marketing and Communication. Her previous work-history builds on 10+ years of experience in the home-services industry that has combined assignments in sales, marketing, accounting, and management. Now as a local resident in the city of Conroe, Kendal is passionate about her current role within SHSU-COM and considers it a blessing to have the opportunity of contributing to a program that is changing lives and making a substantial impact within the community.

Kendal joined the team in March 2019 and began as the Administrative Coordinator to the Associate Dean for Biomedical Sciences. Among other responsibilities, she assisted in budget management, faculty hiring, policy composition, curriculum mapping, and COCA accreditation. After nearly a year and a half of providing support in development of the respective program, Kendal was presented with an opportunity to transfer departments and she pursued a new position as the Coordinator of Examinations in the Office of Assessment, Evaluation, and Accreditation.

Her role now consists primarily of managing the logistical elements associated with the administration of written exams, skills demonstrations, and lab-practicals; integrating strategic software applications for operative use between faculty and students; and organizing complex sets of data for the post-assessment psychometric-review of item performance and exam effectiveness. She has always had a keen attention to detail, love for data, passion for serving, and an ardent desire to make a difference throughout the community, so working at this position within the school has proven to be a natural fit and rewarding experience.

In her time off-campus, Kent enjoys relaxing with her wife [Andrea] whom she affectionally refers to as her best-friend, and her four-legged fur-children who take up almost any remaining free-time (and couch-space) available. Passions include exploring new wines, distinctive whiskeys, and Pinterest-inspired recipes, while also often enjoying a spirited game-night with friends.
