Visiting Assistant Professor

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Sam Houston State University seeks applications for two (2) Visiting Assistant Professor positions for the 2019 – 2020 academic year. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or closely related field, a strong commitment to quality teaching, and be active in research. The position carries a standard teaching load of 18 credit hours per year, made up of 3 and 4 credit hour courses.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Applicants from all areas of mathematics are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has 30 tenured or tenure track faculty positions in mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics.  The BA, BS, MA, & MS degrees are offered in Mathematics. In addition, the MA degree is offered in Mathematics Education. The MS degree is offered in Statistics, along with Statistics minors at both the undergraduate & graduate levels.  The Department is actively involved in undergraduate research. Lecturer of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Sam Houston State University seeks applications for two (2) Lecturer of Mathematics positions for the 2019 – 2020 academic year. These are interim full time, grant funded positions, lasting one academic year to start the Fall 2019 semester. Candidates should have a masters degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics or closely related field. Several years of college teaching required Experience teaching co-requisite mathematics or content courses for elementary teachers preferred. The positions carry a standard teaching load of 36 credit hours per year. Aid with the design, teaching, and reporting associated with mathematics education and co-requisite mathematics courses. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
