This 60-hour program is infused with a real-world, applicable curriculum designed to empower students to meet the demands of today's school counselor. Take your career to the next level with SHSU’s highly respected and nationally accredited program. It is designed to comply with existing Texas Education Agency (TEA) standards for professional school counseling certification and meets academic requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in Texas. Gain the skills necessary to work with today’s students as a counselor and meet the requirements to take the exam for school counseling.

Where and How Is This Program Available?

The M.Ed. in School Counseling is offered in person at our Huntsville campus or Woodlands campus, with a final semester internship post comprehensive examination.
