Become a Leader of Higher Education
With both degree concentrations, graduates will gain all the skills and certification necessary to lead institutions of higher education effectively and ethically. Work with educators to plan and support implementation of curricula through designing educational research and interpreting the results for improvement. Support and advance student success as well as diverse perspectives on learning and leading. Learn to interpret the relationships among federal, state, and local education agencies and the laws applicable to the administration of colleges and universities.
What is required to earn a doctorate?
The program requires a minimum of sixty hours of graduate credit, successful passing of a comprehensive examination, and completion of a dissertation

Lead Higher Education Institution
Gain the skills and certification necessary to lead higher education institutions in today’s complex environments. With two modalities of instruction — Administration (face-to-face, Spring admission) or Academic Support Programs (online, Summer admission) — students can build a future supporting the needs of modern learners and educators.

Administration Concentration
Support the needs of higher education by learning the logistics of administration. From Finance to Legal Issues and Policy and Governance, candidates will be prepared to run a higher education institution and make informed decisions. Classes such as Diversity and Culture and History of American Higher Education Systems provide important insight that helps future leaders govern with a cultural understanding of how past decisions have shaped the world of higher education.

Academic Support Concentrati
Our Academic Support Programs concentration gives candidates the tools to support developmental education in a variety of implementations, such as Advanced Learning Theory and Strategies for College Reading, plus learn to design learning environments in developmental education and more. Gain the skills necessary to plan and provide for academic programs’ curricula, apply student development theory to support student success, and support and enhance diverse perspectives on learning and leading.
