Dual Degree: English and Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing

This program offers an MA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing. Students are able to earn 84 credit hours in 60 credit hours, drastically reducing the amount of time it takes to earn both degrees.

For the MA in English, students study literature in English, writing studies, and linguistics, with thesis or non-thesis options. 

The MFA in Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing is a workshop-based, in-person program. MFA theses are book-length works in poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction. MFA students also learn from working with the Texas Review and Texas Review Press.

Can I add one degree after starting the other degree?

Yes, if done before completion of 18 credit hours in the first degree.
