Comparative and Global Education

The Comparative and Global Education program combines policy, analysis, and education to develop the skills to interpret information within the various contexts in which policies were created and consider similar factors when developing new models. Both elective fields and concentrations are expansive to meet the needs and interests of students. Elective fields include higher education, political science, sociology, community health, kinesiology, instructional technology, and international literacy. Concentration fields include curriculum and instruction, adult education, instructional systems and design technology, teaching English as an additional language, early childhood education, higher education, political science, sociology, and public health.

Elective fields for this degree program include higher education, political science, sociology, community health, kinesiology, instructional technology, and international literacy. Other elective fields would be considered in order to meet the needs and interests of students. 

Concentration fields include curriculum and instruction, adult education, instructional systems and design technology, teaching English to speakers of other languages, early childhood education, higher education, political science, sociology, and public health. Other concentration fields would be considered in order to meet the needs and interests of students.

​​Graduates will be prepared for a variety of careers, such as: teaching and conducting research in philosophical, historical, cultural, race, gender, ethnic and comparative studies; acting as specialists for United States and global programs, non-governmental agencies, and multilateral and bilateral technical assistance agencies in a variety of endeavors; and engaging in analysis of educational policy issues in the United States and in other areas of the world.​
