Registration for the 13th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium has ended.
Please visit our home page to view our closing message.
Because of the generous sponsorship of the Elliott T. Bowers Honors College in collaboration with the Center for Enhancing Undergraduate Research Experiences and Creative Activities (E.U.R.E.C.A.), the URS is FREE to all who register to present or attend. To mark the URS experience, our sponsors provide breakfast & seated lunch, scholarship awards for presenters, and souvenirs for all attendees.
Registration for student presenters is closed until next year.
The primary purpose of the URS is to give Sam Houston State University undergraduate students an opportunity to present their research at a professional conference. As an undergraduate student, you will be expected to share your work later in your career either as a graduate student or in the professional world. The URS is a great way to gain constructive feedback from an assigned faculty moderator, and gain experience presenting your work in a congenial and positive environment.
At the URS, you can also expect to meet like-minded individuals who share an interest in academia, enjoy complimentary breakfast & lunch, and network with other SHSU students and faculty. Most importantly, you will leave with the prestige of presenting at a paid conference for FREE. All student presenters must register before the deadline!
Registration for faculty moderators is closed until next year.
Faculty moderators support the URS by offering student presenters professional feedback in order to facilitate their academic growth. Participating as a moderator gives faculty the opportunity to see what students are working on. All faculty moderators must register before the deadline!
Registration for audience members is closed until next year.
Audience members are a vital component to the URS. Audience members often include the family, friends, and faculty mentors of the presenter and anyone seeking to show support for our presenters. However, since the event is FREE for all participants, we strongly encourage anyone who wants to come to register and join us for this event. All audience members must register before the deadline!
