  • AMATO BROTHERS SCHOLARSHIP: $3,000 per year; Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student, majoring in any discipline, demonstrate financial need, and exhibit commitment to continue and complete their education. The recipient must maintain not less than a 2.5 GPA in major and overall.


  • SPECIAL GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP:The Special Graduate Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship from Sam Houston State University. It is awarded to selected graduate students whose academic accomplishments and university or community citizenship are excellent in every respect.

    To be considered for the Special Graduate Scholarship, a Sam Houston State University student must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in the College of Science & Engineering Technology. To be competitive for the Special Graduate Scholarship, it is recommended that applicants have a cumulative undergraduate/graduate GPA of at least 3.2 and have GRE Verbal and Quantitative % Below scores with a combined average of 50% or higher. The competitiveness of the applicant pool varies from semester to semester, so all interested students are encouraged to apply. An international student applying for this scholarship must have an established Sam Houston State University GPA or a formal transcript evaluation on file.

    Students who have completed all required coursework for the graduate degree, students under any disciplinary, probationary, or suspension period, or students who have earned a grade of C during the prior academic year as a graduate student, are not eligible for the scholarship.

    Application deadlines:  Fall Semester - June 1; Spring Semester - November 15. 

  • GRADUATE STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP: The Graduate Studies Scholarship is intended for high-quality students in SHSU graduate programs.  Nominations will be accepted for both new and current students. Nomination needs to be made by graduate program's Graduate Advisor.
