Dr. Ross Guida
GSP Project Director, Associate Professor of Environmental and Geosciences

Professor Guida teaches Weather and Climate, Sustainability and Environment, Hydrology and Water Resources, and Geomorphology. His research interests are in flood impacts/risk and changing flood dynamics after “record-breaking” events, including climate impacts in the Gulf region. He has also published work on climate change and biogeographic modeling.

Recent research projects expanded into geoscience education and included working with K-12 teachers and students to increase geoscience awareness in the Houston metro area. For impact projects, he is open to working with students interested in flooding, geospatial applications/analysis, coastal changes, and/or community outreach for science education and place-based learning.
