TRP: The University Press of SHSU is proud to host the launch of East Texas Sheriff: Darrell White, a Country Boy and a Country Sheriff by Ruth White Lynch, the newest volume in the Huntsville History series, selected by Series Editor Dr. Carolina Castillo Crimm.
This annual celebration highlights the Huntsville History series, which explores the history, people, and places of Huntsville, Walker County, East Texas, and the Piney Woods. Through compelling stories and carefully researched accounts, the series preserves and shares the region's unique heritage for new generations of readers.
Join us for an evening of refreshments, good company, and lively conversation as we celebrate the release of Ruth White Lynch's portrait of longtime East Texas lawman Darrell White. Lynch will share remarks about the book, its subject, and the process of preserving local history through storytelling, followed by a book signing.
Donations will support the ongoing work of TRP, helping us continue to publish quality poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, scholarship, and regional history.
