COHS Summer Camp

Discover health careers at SHSU’s 3-day summer camp with hands-on activities, expert guidance, and a real college experience for high school students.

Explore Your Future in Health and Human Sciences

Are you a high school junior or senior with a passion for helping others and an interest in health, wellness, or healthcare? The College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites you to attend our Health Sciences Summer Camp—a dynamic, hands-on, and immersive 3-day experience that offers a window into the world of health-related careers.

Hosted each summer, this residential camp gives students the opportunity to:

  • Participate in interactive workshops and labs led by faculty from our departments of Human Sciences, Kinesiology, Nursing, Athletic Training and Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, and Public Health.
  • Explore careers as a nutritionist, healthcare administrator, nurse, interior designer, physical therapist, athletic trainer, physician assistant, or public health advocate.
  • Engage with professionals across a variety of health and human service disciplines.
  • Collaborate with SHSU students who serve as mentors and role models.
  • Get a taste of college life by staying in residence halls, dining on campus, and joining social and recreational activities.
  • Visit our School of Nursing at The Woodlands Center, traveling by charter bus for an up-close look at a state-of-the-art healthcare learning environment.
