Prepare for a career in counseling and leadership 

Counselors have the opportunity to change lives for the better. Enhance individual, family and community wellness by pursuing a degree in Counselor Education. The Department of Counselor Education prepares professionals to be counselors and leaders in a variety of settings including schools, agencies, institutions of higher education, and private practices. 

Our program supports professionals along their education journey for many types of counseling, therapy, and leadership in the counseling field. Earn a Master of Arts in Counseling, Master of Education in School Counseling, or Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education — all CACREP Accredited. Continuing education offers Graduate Certificates in Play Therapy and in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling.
