​​Help Victims, Lead in Service to Others​

​​SHSU’s Department of Victim Studies educates students with a deep understanding of victimization and survivor support. Our faculty are passionate about providing a transformative learning experience focused on the needs of victims and the professionals who serve them. Through specialized coursework, hands-on opportunities, and partnerships with law enforcement, advocacy organizations, and service agencies, students gain practical insight into the realities of victim services. Our curriculum addresses a wide range of victim experiences, empowering students to pursue meaningful careers in advocacy, policy, and criminal justice. With a strong foundation in research and real-world application, we prepare students to make a lasting impact in the lives of victims and their communities.​
