Sports Journalism & Production Summer Camp

Save the date for 2027!

Sam Houston State University’s Department of Media and Communication invites high school students to explore the exciting world of sports journalism and media production through an immersive, hands-on camp experience. Participants will develop skills in sports reporting, interviewing, podcasting, audio production, and live studio and field production while learning how stories are created and shared across today’s media platforms. With guidance from experienced faculty and opportunities to work with industry-relevant equipment and techniques, students will build confidence in communication, storytelling, content creation, and production.

Who should attend

This camp is designed for high school students who are interested in journalism, digital media, broadcasting, content creation, public relations, or storytelling. No prior experience or sports knowledge is required.
