Partnering with HUBs for Procurement Success
SHSU will make a good faith effort to assist HUBs to receive opportunities for awards on purchase of construction, professional services, supplies, materials, equipment and services. SHSU will develop a written HUB Advocacy Program (HUBAP) to carry out these commitments.
It is the goal of the Sam Houston State University (SHSU) HUB Program to increase the participation of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) with University procurement opportunities by providing leadership and excellence in developing and growing positive HUB vendor relationships with the University through advocacy, education, knowledge, and development. SHSU will make a good faith effort to assist Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) to receive opportunities for awards on purchase of construction, professional services, supplies, materials, equipment and services. The Statewide Procurement Division, Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program administers the HUB program in accordance with Texas Government Code §2161 and Texas Administrative Code, Title 34, Chapter 20, Subchapter D, Division 1, Sections §20.281 to §20.298.
Contract Awards
The Texas Legislature requires state agencies to make a good faith effort to assist HUBs in receiving a portion of the total value of all contracts. SHSU has made a commitment and priority adopt the following State of Texas goals set forth by the Statewide Procurement Division of the Texas State Comptroller’s office.
