Header Menu

There will be a Header Menu on every page of every SHSU website for global navigation. The main SHSU.edu site, the Sam Houston Memorial Museum & Presidential Library, and SHSU Physicians each has its own unique header menu that is applied to all pages on the corresponding site.

Parameters

Minimum Recommended Fields

  • Menu Links: At least 3 links are recommended per menu row. If a dropdown menu is used, at least 2 links are recommended within the dropdown.
  • Descriptions: Displayed for the top-level items on the SHSU.edu main header menu only
  • Phone Number: SHSU Physicians header menu only

Recommended Character Limits

  • Menu Link Titles: Maximum of 20 characters for top-level items that appear in the main menu, or 40 characters for items in the submenus
  • Descriptions: Maximum of 175 characters

Text Formatting Allowed

  • Menu Link: Unformatted text
  • Description: Unformatted text, line breaks allowed
  • Phone Number: Unformatted text

Where You Can Use It

The Header Menu is a global element and will appear across the entirety of each site (SHSU.edu, Sam Houston Memorial Museum & Presidential Library, and SHSU Physicians, respectively).
