The B.S. in Plant & Soil Sciences at SHSU offers specialization in agronomy—focused on feed, fiber, and turf production—or horticulture—emphasizing greenhouse management, plant propagation, and landscape design. Students combine classroom instruction with hands-on labs and field experiences in state-of-the-art greenhouses, Gibbs Ranch, and agriculture centers. Core studies in soil science, plant propagation, and crop production equip graduates for a variety of careers in agriculture or advanced studies.
