Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program at SHSU-COM trains student doctors to become compassionate, community-focused physicians prepared to serve in rural and underserved areas. Through an integrated curriculum and extensive clinical experience, graduates are equipped for residency and lifelong medical practice grounded in osteopathic principles.

What Makes This DO Program Different?

SHSU-COM is one of the most affordable osteopathic medical schools in the country, and our students consistently achieve some of the highest board exam scores and residency match rates in the nation. Our mission to increase access to care is more than words. From day one, student doctors engage in meaningful service through campus organizations and community outreach. After graduation, they continue that commitment, with many choosing residency programs that serve rural and underserved communities across Texas.

Where and How Is This Program Available?

The DO program is offered in person at the SHSU-COM campus in Conroe, TX. Student doctors complete their pre-clinical education (OMS-I and II) on-site and engage in clinical rotations at affiliated sites across Texas during their OMS-III and OMS-IV years.
