The Graduate Certificate in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling provides a deeper understanding of family systems theory, systemic approaches for working with couples and families, and effective strategies for addressing a wide range of relational issues.
Who is this certificate for?
Students pursuing an MA in Counseling or who already have a master's degree in a counseling-related field would be suitable candidates for this program.

Lead in Service to Counsel Family S
Gain specialization working with a family systems approach. Learn to develop skills in the application of the main approaches to family therapy clinical work, including working with families in a variety of contexts.

Path to a Future
Open pathways for deepened understanding and ability to support patients. Students pursuing an MA in Counseling or who already have a master’s degree in a counseling-related field will find important insight into family systems theory as well as learn approaches for working with couples and families. Students pursuing a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) should consult the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council for more information.

Our program promotes the development of student proficiencies and deepens understanding of the standards of the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) as they are applied in practice. Connections will be made between theory and practice in a clinical setting.
