The B.S. in Human Performance and Wellness Management (HPWM) at Sam Houston State University prepares students for careers in fitness leadership, athletic performance, wellness promotion, and health entrepreneurship. This program is ideal for students who want to design, lead, and manage wellness programs in corporate, commercial, or clinical settings—or launch their own fitness business.
Students gain hands-on experience in fitness assessment, exercise program design, and wellness coaching while building professional skills in communication, leadership, and facility management. The program also serves as excellent preparation for graduate studies in fields such as Occupational Therapy, Kinesiology, or Sport and Human Performance.

Real-World Experience
The wellness management degree culminates with a 400-hour professional internship. The internship will be conducted in a corporate, community, or hospital setting under the instruction and supervision of a qualified and experienced wellness professional.
