Evaluate Emergent Bilingual (EB) Students
Our program targets the significant gap that exists in the training of bilingual evaluation specialists working with Emergent Bilingual (EB) students in Texas and across the country.
We cover the administration of Spanish and English tests, the interpretation of results considering the students' linguistic and cultural backgrounds, and the ethical and appropriate recommendations that follow.
Who is this certificate for?
This certificate may be part of both the M.Ed. in Special Education and the Educational Diagnostician Certification programs. However, it is also a stand-alone certificate for professionals who already have both their Educational Diagnostician and Bilingual Teacher Certifications.
Where and How Is This Program Available?
The certificate includes two (2) assessment courses requiring participation in four Saturdays of face-to-face hybrid lectures at our main campus* throughout the semester and weekly synchronous online meetings, plus one (1) asynchronous online course. Three courses are required to complete the certificate; offered one per semester in the summer, fall, and spring.
