Ornithology Collection
The Ornithology collection contains over 1000 study skins, mostly representing species from Texas collected in the 1960s and 1970s, but some dating back to the 1930s. It also includes specimens from other states, as well as Mexico and Panama. There is a collection of over 300 egg specimens from Louisiana and Florida collected in the 1800s. The Texas Bird Sound Library, a collection of over 2000 bird songs, is also included in the collection. The sound library is in the process of being digitized to make it more accessible to the public. In addition, there are numerous field note archives from the Texas Ornithological Society and other sources in the process of being cataloged.
