Information about the Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador Program in the Department of Engineering Technology (ETEC) provides dedicated students a leadership opportunity to represent the ETEC department in various internal and external events. Student Ambassadors provide degree program information, give facility tours, help with developing recruiting materials, and perform other duties to represent the ETEC department.
The ETEC department recruits qualified students to serve as Student Ambassadors based on need and availability. If you are interested in the program, please fill out the ETEC Ambassador Application and submit it together with other required materials to Dr. Iftekhar Ibne Basith at iib002@shsu.edu. Please copy Kelsie Cooper at kmm128@SHSU.EDU as well.

The Faculty Advisor for the Sam Houston Construction Association (SHCA) is Dr. Min Jae Suh.
Description
The Sam Houston Construction Association (SHCA) was created in 2007 to provide a student chapter of the Association of General Contractors of America (AGC). In 2025, the SHCA also became a student chapter of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA).
The goal of this organization is to provide a professional environment in which students can engage with other students of similar interest. The organization provides networking opportunities by having industry professional speakers and encouraging Career fair participation. Our organization strives to give our members a deep understanding of the field while actively participating in our community through service projects. This organization provides students the opportunity of growth at a professional level.

The KatatroniX Club is both professional and social. Club members work to inspire and intrigue fellow students and younger generations to participate in robotics. The organization invites any student from Sam Houston State University that has a passion for robotics. As a STEM/STEAM SHSU student, this association provides you with an opportunity to develop your robotics skills and experience in the competitive environment. There is no major requirement for prospective KatatroniX members!
Membership
Membership is open to any student at SHSU that has a passion for the robotics STEM/STEAM field. Dues are annual to help fund all of the community outreach programs. KatatroniX dues are 10 dollars annually.

Monthly Membership Meeting: Every Monday from 5-6 PM in the Fred Pirkle Building, Room #100. (September - May).

RCEA is open to any SHSU student who is interested in promoting the advances in renewable and clean energy technologies. The Renewable and Clean Energy Association endeavors to support, learn, and spread information on new clean and efficient energy technology.
Come join us as we discuss new technology, hear from speakers in the field, enjoy free food and drink, work on projects, and plan outings to events about clean energy.

As a STEM/STEAM SHSU student, this association provides you with an opportunity to develop your professional contacts. You will gain a better insight into what the career you have selected is all about.

Extended Optional Collegiate Affiliate Membership
Students have the option of joining individually for $20.00. Upon graduation, students are encouraged to join the professional membership or Society of Women for Engineering.
Many student-affiliated groups have been successful in holding joint meetings with personnel from the Industry, University and SWEET membership offers outstanding value! Meetings are usually the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. Your membership includes:

Organization Purpose/Mission
The purpose of the Virtual Reality Club is to work as a team to understand and further the capabilities of Virtual and Augmented Reality Applications. We do so by utilizing Game Development Engines such as Unity! We occasionally host events and gaming tournaments.
