​​The Department of Finance and Banking at SHSU aims to assist in fulfilling the mission of the university and the College of Business Administration by providing students with an academic foundation to become productive citizens and develop successful careers. The department provides students with the background needed to pursue graduate or professional studies in the field of business.  
 
The academic foundation leading to a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance or in Banking and Financial Institutions is designed to ignite curiosity, hone analytical reason, and provide historical and contemporary information relative to the global environment. Our faculty is committed to giving students a robust education that blends technical knowledge with real-world experience, ensuring they’re prepared for the ever-evolving job market.
