FIRST SUMMER SESSION

April 2011
  Advance Registration begins - refer to Schedule of Classes for details.
May 27
FRIDAY:
Submit draft thesis/dissertation to Library for format and style review.
May 31
TUESDAY:
  • Residence halls open for occupancy, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Registration for undergraduate and graduate students - refer to Schedule of Classes for details.
June 1
WEDNESDAY:
  • First class day.
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes. Refer to the Schedule of Classes for details and deadlines.
  • Evening Classes Begin.
June 2
THURSDAY:
Last day to register and to process schedule changes.
June 3
FRIDAY:
Classes Meet.
June 6
MONDAY:
  • Fourth Class Day.
  • Last day to drop without a "Q" and receive 100% refund.(This does not apply if only enrolled in one course - see resignation policy in Schedule of Classes).
June 10
FRIDAY:
Classes Meet.
June 17
FRIDAY:
  • Classes Meet.
  • Half-session courses end.
  • Applications for Degree to be filed in Registrar's Office by 5:00 p.m. for students graduating in August 2011.
June 24
FRIDAY:
  • Classes Meet.
  • Last day to complete a public defense of the thesis/dissertation.
  • Last day to drop courses (not last/only) ONLINE via My Sam without a grade of "F" by 11:59 p.m. After today, "Q" drops must be processed in the Registrar's Office, Estill Bldg. Rm. 331. Students must provide drop form signed by their professors after this date.
June 29
WEDNESDAY:
  • Last Class Day.
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE NOTES BELOW).
June 30
THURSDAY:
  • Final Examinations.
  • Residence halls close at 10:00 p.m.
July 1
FRIDAY:
  • 2:00 pm.  Deadline for filing grades with the Registrar's Office.
  • Last day to submit complete, defended and signed thesis/dissertation to the appropriate academic dean's office.

RESIGNATION NOTE:

Students may resign with a "W" grade from the 13th class day through the last class day, but prior to any final exams being taken or course completion.

DROP NOTE:

Courses may be dropped without a grade of "F" through the last class day, but prior to any final exams being taken or course completion. To process a "Q" drop after the online drop closes, students must come to the Registrar's Office, Estill Building Rm. 331 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No schedule changes may be made after the deadline specified in the Academic Calendar.

 

SECOND SUMMER SESSION


April 2011

TUESDAY:
  • Residence halls open for occupancy, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

July 6
WEDNESDAY:
  • First class day.
  • Late Registration.  Process class schedule changes. Refer to the Schedule of Classes for details and deadlines.
  • Evening Classes Begin.
July 7
THURSDAY:
Last day to register and to process schedule changes.
July 8
FRIDAY:
  • Classes Meet.
  • Last day to submit final thesis / dissertation (defended and signed) and Route Sheet to the Director of the Library.
July 11
MONDAY:
  • Fourth class day.
  • Last day to drop with a "Q" and receive 100% refund.
July 15
FRIDAY:
  • Classes Meet.
  • Last day to make all final copies of thesis/dissertation and submit to the NGL for binding.
  • Last day to submit Route Sheet to the Dean of Graduate Studies.
July 20
WEDNESDAY: Last day to drop courses online (not only online courses) without a grade of "F" by 5:00 pm . After today, "Q" drops must be processed in the Registrar's Office, Estill Bldg. Rm. 331. Professor approval required.
July 22
FRIDAY:
Classes Meet.
July 29
FRIDAY:
Classes Meet.
August 2
TUESDAY:
  • Last Class Day.
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE RESIGNATION INFORMATION BELOW).
August 3
WEDNESDAY:
  • Final Examinations.
  • Residence halls close at 12:00 noon.
August 6
SATURDAY:
TENTATIVE.  Commencement, Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
August 8
MONDAY:
12:00 noon Deadline for filing grades with the Registrar's Office.
