COPY OF SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE SURVEY DATA
SET Special Legislative
Survey Data Set The Special Legislative Survey included
responses to questions sent to a sub-sample of the respondents who
participated in the 2001-2002 general survey. This link downloads a compressed SPSS file
that includes the data, variable names, and value labels for all respondents
who participated in the 2001-2002 general survey. The data elements beginning
with the prefix “sl” are the questions asked of the sub-sample. For all other
cases, those data are recorded as “System Missing.” This data set is raw and includes the
originally coded information including coding errors that result in values
outside of the appropriate range of values in some cases. It has
intentionally been left this way for pedagogical purposes so that faculty
using it in classes can require students to go through the process of
cleaning it before using it for projects. Similarly, anyone using this data
set will need to review the frequency distributions and re-code outliers as missing
where they occur. |
