Cloud Atlas

The graphic below is taken from your textbook. You should be familiar with the four cloud families (high, middle and low clouds and clouds of vertical development) and the 10 basic cloud types along with the general characteristics of each as described in the graphic below.
 
To assist you in cloud identification, examples of each cloud type are provided in the Cloud Atlas found on this site. Unless otherwise indicated, all cloud photos are taken from: Der Karlsruher Wolkenatlas and are used with the permission of the author, Bernhard Muhr.
