Dr. Lei Chen received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Science and Applications from Nanjing University of Technology, China, in 2000, and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Auburn University, USA, in August 2007. He joined the Department of Computer Science at Sam Houston State University in 2007 as tenure-track Assistant Professor, and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in August 2013. He will join the Department of Information Technology at Georgia Southern University in Fall 2015. Dr. Chen's research interests focus on the security and digital forensics of networks, information, and the Cloud, especially mobile, handheld, and wireless security. He has authored or co-authored more than seventy peer-reviewed scholarly works including journal papers, book chapters, and conference proceeding papers. His edited book "Wireless Network Security: Theories and Applications", published by Springer (U.S.) and Higher Education Press (HEP, China), was released in 2013. Dr. Chen successfully organized the International Workshop on Pervasive Communication Security, social Networking and Social Engineering, held in conjunction with the 2012 International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications (ICNC). The workshop attracted more than 20 paper submissions and 6 top papers were carefully selected based on peer-review feedbacks. Workshop attendance exceeded 50 participants. Dr. Chen also successfully chaired the International Workshop on Sensor, Peer-to-peer and Social Networks (SPAN) with ICNC 2014 and 2015. He has also served as TPC members at various international conferences and served in editorial advisory board for multiple books and journals.

Dr. Min Kyung An received her B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics from Jeju National University, Republic of Korea, in 2004. She received M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2007, and from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2013, respectively. Dr. An joined the Department of Computer Science at Sam Houston State University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in September 2013. Dr. An's major research areas include wireless ad hoc and sensor networks focusing on routing protocols and security, design and analysis of approximation algorithms, graph theory, and program analysis. Since 2010, she has authored/co-authored about twenty peer-reviewed scholarly works, including journal papers and conference proceeding papers. Dr. An has served as a reviewer for journals/conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Networking (ToN), IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), Ad Hoc Networks (ADHOC), and Wireless Networks (WINET). She also served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) Member for IEEE International Symposium on Signal Processing and Information Technology (ISSPIT) in 2014, 2013, and for the Sullivan University Global Online Conference on Information and Computer Technology (CICT) in 2014.
4. Workshop description
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of sensor devices, also called wireless sensor nodes, deployed on sensing fields. WSNs have been hugely welcomed into our lives with the capabilities of the sensor nodes to communicate among sensor nodes, to monitor/sense nearby environmental conditions. Such capabilities have found applications in various areas including health (for example to monitor disabled patients), military (for computing, command, surveillance, targeting systems, communication), among others.
Along with WSNs, networks of mobile devices (laptops, smartphones, etc.), so-called Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs), have been widely used with the huge growth of the devices. Although there is no fixed infrastructure in such networks as the devices are free to join (or leave) the networks and move independently, they provide necessary functionalities for the networks using their capabilities to organize themselves dynamically without any central administrations. Applications for MANETs include emergency services (for example, disaster recovery, search/rescue operations), home/enterprise networking (for conferences, office wireless networking), and so on.
SPFMSNET 2015, aptly named for its goal, is a full-day research workshop organized with the objective of bringing together researchers working on the security and forensic aspects of the intersection of Wireless Sensor Networks and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. This proposed workshop well fits into the main theme of IEEE GLOBECOM 2015 by providing the important yet complementary security and forensics aspects to ad-hoc and sensor networks, which is one of the twelve symposia of the main conference. All final submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of six (6) printed pages (10-point font) including figures without incurring additional page charges (maximum 1 additional page with over length page charge of USD100 if accepted). Papers exceeding 7 pages will not be accepted at EDAS. Papers must not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference/workshop at the same time (double submission). PLEASE NOTE: To be published in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2015 Conference Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the workshop at the FULL (member or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the workshop unless the TPC Chair grants permission for a substitute presenter in advance of the event and who is qualified both to present and answer questions. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. For authors with multiple accepted papers, one FULL or LIMITED registration is valid for up to 3 papers. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2015 Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore(R).
