Road Access to Campus


When coming to campus for events, please give yourself plenty of extra time.  Note the one-way traffic patterns depicted on the map below.  Pay close attention to event signage when posted along the route.  Please note that due to ongoing construction, exits 112 and 113 are closed to those traveling north on I-45.  Remember to check the weather.

  • Plan some extra commute time during the first couple of days while people become accustomed to the new routes.
  • Talk about how you will meet up with family and friends in the event of an emergency
  • Check the weather before you travel.  Significant rain can alter traffic flow and road closures.

To get in the vicinity of Bowers Stadium or Johnson Coliseum: 

From Houston:

Take exit to HWY 19.  Stay on HWY 19 then take exit to Bearkat BLVD and follow signs to the Stadium or the Coliseum. You can also take I-45 North to Huntsville, Exit 114. At the overpass light make a right turn onto FM 1374 (Montgomery Road). Continue until it crosses Bowers Blvd at the Bearkat Football Stadium.  Please note that exit 112 and 113 are temporarily closed to construction.  For HWY 19, you will need to take exit 109 for HWY 75 to HWY 19.  

From Dallas:
Take I-45 South to Huntsville, Exit 116. At the overpass light make a left turn onto Hwy 30 East (also 11th Street). Continue on this street to the Courthouse. The first light at the Courthouse is Sam Houston Avenue. Turn right on Sam Houston Avenue and continue to Bearkat Blvd (formerly 16th Street). Take a left on Bearkat Blvd and continue to Bobby K. Marks Blvd.

From Bryan/College Station:
You will come into Huntsville on Hwy 30 East. Continue to the first light at the courthouse, Sam Houston Ave. Turn right onto Sam Houston Ave. and continue to Bearkat Blvd (16th Street). Take a left onto Bearkat Blvd and continue to Bobby K. Marks Blvd.
