Please see our Visitor Services COVID-19 information page to get updates about tours on campus.
Interested in touring campus?
We are offering small, in-person walking tours for guests to visit campus. At this time, we are limiting each registered guest to bringing only one guest to allow for small groups with maximum amounts of registration spots for prospecitve students. While on campus, all visitors much abide by all campus Covid guidelines, including wearing a face mask.
What is the university policy on face coverings and distancing?
After careful consideration of scientific data, analysis of local conditions and consultation with the Office of General Council and medical professionals, beginning March 10, 2021, the university will continue to require all individuals in ALL buildings on the Sam Houston State University campus to wear face coverings. Face coverings will also still be required outside when in groups, which will include campus tours.
How do virtual tours work?
We currently offer virtual tours each week, which are led live by a SAMbassador tour guide. They will have a live chat available to answer all of your questions, just like they would if you were visiting in person. When you register for an online campus visit, you will receive an email with login details and additional information.
In-Person Tour Options
We currently offer limited in-person tours, which allow for the student and a maximum of 1 guest to attend. Currently, children under 14 are not allowed on tour.
- Open campus walking tours are available to high school seniors, juniors, and transfer students.
- Self-Guided walking tours are available to guests at their own preference. We do ask that you register on our main webpage. You can check in at the Visitor Center any time on your assigned day between 9:00am and 4:00pm. You will be given a map of campus at that time, which has video link components. You must still wear a mask at all times on campus, however you may have more than one guest in your group.
We understand that limited campus visits may not be ideal at the time as you are embarking on your college search, but we are working hard to make campus accessible to you while still abiding by all CDC and University safety measures. We also encourage you to explore our website for more information about becoming a Bearkat!
Email email@example.com and thank you again for your patience and understanding as we continue to focus on our students’ health and safety.
